New hires join the Roadnight Capital Team
Roadnight was established to give investors access to investments with strong risk-adjusted returns. This has led Roadnight to focus primarily on the Australian private debt market which has grown substantially in the last couple of years.
The growth in the Australian private debt market has been driven by:
• Regulatory changes that increase the banks’ capital requirements and reduce leverage
• Centralisation of the Big Four banks’ credit processes and the resulting focus on loans of $15m+, which reduces the amount of funding available for those looking for $1m - $10m
• Investor desire to:
– Receive reliable income streams outside of property
– Diversify their portfolios to reduce volatility
Roadnight believes these factors will continue for the foreseeable future and that the Australian private debt market is in a similar position to the Australian property debt market ten years ago.
Roadnight Capital will continue to pursue its strategic growth agenda in 2023 and take advantage of this market opportunity by investing in people, processes and systems as follows:
· Appointment of the following executives with deep domain expertise to the team:
o Andrew Colliver (Andrew Colliver | LinkedIn) – Managing Director Investments – Andrew is jointly responsible for investment strategy, risk and compliance and investment portfolio. Andrew has deep credit experience as previously founder and head of credit of SME-focused fintech Banjo Loans. Before Banjo, Andrew spent 20 years at NAB in various senior executive roles
o Allan Stonehouse (Allan Stonehouse | LinkedIn) – Director Investments – Allan is responsible for deal structuring, due diligence, execution of investments and management of client relationships. Allan has experience managing complex debt and operational restructuring projects on behalf of banks while working over the last 8 years at McGrathNicol and FTI Consulting
o Ben Aizenstros (Ben Aizenstros | LinkedIn) – Analyst – Ben is responsible for due diligence, data analysis and structuring of investments, in addition to execution and loan monitoring
• Appointing MSC Abacus to perform all fund administration functions for the Roadnight Capital Diversified Income Fund
• Implementing a new loan administration system that systematically integrates our credit assessment, reporting and monitoring policies into Roadnight’s business processes
• Adoption of a new risk and compliance monitoring system that is embedded in Roadnight’s business processes
